285,000 impoverished men, women and children (per year) in need of basic healthcare

Afghanistan's healthcare system is in shambles after 23 years of conflict in this devastated country. According to the Ministry of Health, only a third of the country's 1,000 (approx) health clinics are operational. Those in operation often lack even the most basic medicines and medical supplies. Afghan lives are all too often lost for lack of items readily available in developed countries.
World Vision Afghanistan wants to help stop needless suffering and deaths among the Afghan people. In order to do so, a generous donation of specific medicines and medical supplies in specific quantities is needed.
World Vision will use the donation to supply clinics in several impoverished provinces in Western Afghanistan for the next 30 months. This donation will help 285,000 people per year.
The extensive list of necessary items is too long to be included here. Interested parties should contact World Vision Afghanistan Health Program Manager Eleanor Cupit at eleanor_cupit@wvi.org
