The Armenian Church was marginalised for seventy years under Soviet rule. Many churches were destroyed and Christian education disappeared almost entirely, a void that is felt by today's younger generations. Today, even with its rich history, the Armenian Church is seeking ways to re-establish itself in society and more effectively serve the community.

|
Despite their respect for the Armenian Church and religion, many children are not aware of the fundamental principles of Christianity, nor the meaning of spiritual traditions and holidays.
Christian holidays provide opportunities for joy, celebration and camaraderie, as well as bringing the good news of the kingdom of God to the most poor and vulnerable of Armenia's children.
