According to recent figures, 5,706 HIV/AIDS infected children, of the 9,418 in Europe, live in Romania. Not only do these children and their families suffer from a lack of health services, but they must also endure society’s blatant reluctance to accept them. The stigma is especially prevelant in Constanta county where approximately 700 children live with HIV/AIDS....

Fighting against HIV/AIDS and its disastrous consequences on children in Romania is one of World Vision's most important objectives for the years ahead.

In response to HIV/AIDS, World Vision has carried out a number of activities, which with continued funding will be ongoing:

• Provided support to 350 children living with HIV/AIDS, their families and children within these communities, through a Kids Club and other activities.
  
  
• Provided health education seminars to 500 children in communities.
  
  
• Provided dental treatment to 350 HIV/AIDS infected children.
  
  
• Provided 140 food packs to families that have children living with HIV/AIDS.
  
  
• Organised summer camps for 175 HIV/AIDS infected children.
  
  
• Integrated 100 children from orphanages into project activities
